Clean a Shopify orders CSV before sharing it.
A downloaded orders report can have trailing spaces, empty rows, awkward column names, or an identical row repeated twice. TidyExport lets you review those changes in your browser before downloading a clean copy. The file itself is not uploaded.
What the Shopify Orders Cleanup preset changes
It normalizes headers, trims text whitespace, removes fully empty rows and exact duplicate rows, and protects formula-like text in CSV output. It renames the standard Name and Email columns to order_number and customer_email. Additional merchant columns are preserved.
Repeated order numbers need a closer look
One order may appear on several rows because it contains multiple line items. Those are not necessarily duplicates. The preset removes a row only when its cell values match another row exactly after the preceding cleanup steps. Review the preview before exporting; it does not merge orders by number, reconcile payments, or validate a Shopify re-import.
How to clean an export
Open the workspace, choose Shopify Orders Cleanup, and select your CSV or XLSX file. If your export has different column names, review the schema warning and map missing columns before applying dependent steps. Inspect the before-and-after preview and the count of changes, then sign in to download. One successful cleaned-file export per UTC month is free.
Privacy and supported files
CSV files can be up to 25 MB or 100,000 rows; XLSX files can be up to 15 MB or 50,000 data rows. XLSX cleaning uses only the first worksheet. The file is processed on your device, and you can keep a copy of the original. This is an independent cleaning preset, not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify.
